Train Hands
04:52
|
|||
Bare hands beaten
If I get the chance I'll be bleedin'
Aint it a shame how you playin' with the train in your hands
I don't think they understand
I know you're name, got your number
Now I'm gonna getcha
Tie me in chains, lock me up and
I'll break out I betcha
And if you see me free walking the streets
It's just cause I let you down, so down
Just goes to show what you can't understand
Cause you'll never get to heaven with a train in your hands
Cause you can't stop a train
If you aint got the strength
But then all that remains
Is the name on your grave
With your cold dead eyes
And your spiral looking glass
Aint you ever gonna see that
The past is just the past
1 2 3 like a bird and a bee
But you only find yourself when you climb in a tree
And if you look both ways you'll be lookin' at me
By yourself, that aint good for your health
Just goes to show what you can't understand
Cause you'll never get to heaven with a train in your hands
Cause you can't stop a train
If you aint got the strength
But then all that remains
Is the name on your grave
With your cold dead eyes
And your spiral looking glass
Aint you ever gonna see that
The past is just the past
You run for shelter so you don't have to feel the rain
And now your coming to me so you got to feelin the pain
And now it's coming at you like a ten ton freight train
Cause you can't stop a train
If you aint got the strength
But then all that remains
Is the name on your grave
With your cold dead eyes
And your spiral looking glass
Aint you ever gonna see that
The past is just the past

Bad Apple
02:47
|
|||
I keep it in, you bleed it out
I hold my tongue, you scream and shout
I stay in line, you rebel rave
I'm a good boy, you misbehave
I'm a sucker for pity but you didn't know that about me
But I want you to see just what I see
Ya I want you to see just what I see
Bad apple how you love to rot
Now there's someone behind me
With a bright red shiny ball
And she's looking to bite me
But it just don't hurt at all, no not at all
Bad apple how you love to rot

Another Culture
02:27
|
|||
A wink, a nod, a kiss or what you think that you thought
It's like a tiny elephant or a century of cents you aint got
But I might be mistaken for a greasy piece of bacon
whether I like it or not
But if you think you're so important
Why don't you get yourself imported from another culture
A mystery that I think I could probably solve
Ya she's into me but I get a little too self-involved
But it's how I combat with a foreign accent
Though she doesn't speak a lick of English at all
If you think I'm superstitious
I know life can get more vicious than this or any other culture
Well what do you believe? That's not what I see
What's you fate alone? Well that's not mine to own
Well all I know is she puts on dresses
Goes out to shows and she always impresses the crowd
So loud it explodes, another culture is all that I know

Poor John Boogie
02:58
|
|||
It's an uptown riot but I'm not excited
No this shit don't shake my shoes
See everywhere I've been and everything I've seen
You know they aint got nothing to lose
What I thought she'd say, "Bein' happy is overrated anyway"
But when the devil's nippin' at your heels
You aint got nothing but the blues
When she came into view poor John was feelin' pretty blue
Old soul, heart of coal, just about wishing he was through
But when he took one look at them platform six inch stilettos
He was alright
Her name was Pussy, she was dream,
One of the sweetest tricks he had ever seen
She moved so slow that he never knew which way she was goin'
But that never stopped him from following right behind
He was alright
Poor John said, "C'mon! I know I'm broke 'cause my money's gone.
But I'm clean, disease free, and I got plenty of time if you know what
I mean. I don't know where I've been but all I want to do is dance. If it's alright."

My Home in Memphis
03:44
|
|||
My mother told me to take my chances
I never told her I had even left but I am gone
Driving aimless, finding nowhere
I don't think I'll get very far on my own
But I need to take a break
And get a clean escape
Hey I need to find my place in Memphis
Well Elvis told me that I was welcome
But I was only there to help myself, I am home
With lonely nights and beautiful skies
The only time I felt alright is when you called on the phone
Ya I need to go back home 'cause I am feeling so alone
Hey I need to leave my place in Memphis

Sweet Dreams
03:19
|
|||
When I wake up to the dawn
I just slip into the sheets and put my sunglasses on
You just lecture, you can't teach me
I need pleasure, you can't please me
Will it ever be as easy as sweet dreams
Well just let my body lay and I might sleep my life away
'Cause I don't want to see the day that I'll be
Standing on my own two feet again
You can say what you will and you can be my friend
But you can't control the fate of what will happen in the end
I'm just hearing what you're sayin' and I think we should be layin'
In our beds hoping and praying for sweet dreams
Well just let my body lay and I might sleep my life away
'Cause I don't want to see the day that I'll be
Standing on my own two feet again
If I wait for you to fall asleep then
I might not get the chance to fall and dream again
You know once in awhile, in a lifetime, we only get one chance
But it's better than the ladder, it's a crying conversation
It aint over, it gets worse, it's a struggle everday
Did I make it alright? Did I?
I'm never standing on my feet again
Sweet dreams, woah, sweet dreams
Somethings in life aint ever gonna be as easy as they seem
I'm just hearing what you're sayin' and I think we should be layin'
In our beds hoping and praying for sweet dreams

So Far Gone
04:37
|
|||
I'm waiting around just wasting my time
'Cause she's already got the bags packed in her mind
Where she is driven I just couldn't say
It all just depends on how she's feeling that day
So sit down and tell me a story
While I'm waiting for you to leave
And please don't let it get boring
But keep it real enough to believe
Well I feel for her but I don't feel it back
I don't know what it is maybe something I lack
If I'm boring you now then I won't be for long
I just need enough time to finish this song
Hey!
I couldn't paint you that picture
'Cause I never got the right picture of you
And I know that this song seems familiar
But I never intended to write it for you
But you were so far gone, you were already so far gone
So sit down with me at the table
'Cause you know that I want you to stay
So go on and tell me that fable
The one that will take you all day
Hey!
I couldn't paint you that picture
'Cause I never got the right picture of you
And I know that this song seems familiar
But I never intended to write it for you
But you were so far gone, you were already so far gone
